Slow Me Down Today

Why does it always seem so true
That the hours in the day are just too few
To accomplish all we want to get done
And have alittle time left over for some fun?


We rush madly about from here to there
As if we didn't have a second to spare.
It's been said we live in an "instant" society
And we strive to be all that we can be.


But stress arises when our list of things to do
Becomes so long our life is like a zoo.
We want to calm down and just relax
But, oh no, here comes another fax!
There's places to be; there's bills to pay.
Slowly our nerves are beginning to fray.
Too quickly each day the clock ticks down
And we wish for just more time to be found.


Where does all this madness stop?
Is it really so important to make it to the top?
Somewhere along the line you may forget what really matters in life
And lose sight of who you are among the hurry and strife.
But just be still and listen to what Jesus says to us
And let go of all life's ridiculous fuss.
Satan wants us so deeply entangled in the insignificant
That we're not in the game of life to play anymore, but only to bunt.


Jesus was never rushed a day He walked on this earth.
He kept a steady pace and knew His worth.
So, whenever our lives become like a revolving door
Remember the understanding One who offers us sweet rest forevermore.
Just take a deep breath and slowly say,
"Jesus, I love you.  Slow me down today."

The Two Cutest Furbabies Ever :-)

Alex Turns 10

Alex wanted a Harry Potter birthday party.  Publix did a good job on his cake.

I think Abby thinks the party is for her.   Doesn't she look like Shirley Temple Jr.?

The cake was a marble cake and it was just delicious.  

I looked over and Abby was grooming her new doll.  I thought it was so cute. 

Wow, he's so grown up now.  I still remember the day he entered this world.  He was beautiful that day and he's still one of the most beautiful sights I've ever seen today.

Our First Waffles with My Birthday Present

My wonderful angels here on earth, Holly and Peggy Sue, gave me a waffle maker for my birthday.  This was our first use.  The waffles were sooooo delicious.   They were definitely a hit with not only myself but Rob and Bodhi, too.

Bella Joins the Family February 12th, 2011

We met Bella for the first time Valentine's Day weekend.   And what a present of love and joy she has brought to our lives so far.  She is soooo loving.   She was eight months old when we first met her.  She is a cavalier King Charles spaniel.  I became familiar with this breed through my sister-in-law, Margie.  She has four in her family.  They are the most loving, affectionate dogs you have ever met.  I love Bodhi so much but he is such an independent little male and he's not too much into receiving or giving affection or being held.  I wanted a puppy who was affectionate.  She is such a comfort to me, especially after I get chemo.  She's just my little buddy and I just love love love her!

We stopped by Rob's sister Geri's house near Birmingham and let them all meet Bella. She was a hit. 

From the first moment she saw Rob she bonded with him and felt safe with him.

Kristen meets Bella for the first time.  Bella was a great little trooper.  She didn't mind being passed around.  She is very friendly and likes meeting people.  

We had to take our new baby to PetSmart to get her "the works."
